Dirty hands, pure heart! Staying in touch with nature keeps us connected.

Elda helping in the garden plant her flowers. 2022

Nature is pure, it is amazing. Elda has always had a flower garden or a house full of plants. I try to keep her surrounded by things she loved. While we do not have numerous plants in the house we have a vegetable garden, in which we have incorporate many flowering plants to create a beautiful environment for her.

Keeping Elda outside and in touch with nature is also a way of keeping her connected with life. It gives her a responsibility to plant a plant or seeds, then to care for them and to watch them grow. Even if she may not remember that she planted them, or that she chose them she enjoys their beauty and she feels good being outside. It is calming for her, and she relaxes. We even bring her bunny rabbit.

The summers are very hot here and Elda does not do well in the heat, but we enjoy the spring, fall and winters! We keep whatever plants we can growing all year long and we stay outside. To walk, to sit and just breath! Fresh air and dirt keep a heart happy!
